DeskTap Refund Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026
Document version: 1.1
Supplier: Goussi, trading as GridWave DSP
Merchant of record: Polar Software, Inc.
Support: contact@gridwavedsp.com

Version 1.1 applies when the transaction completed at or after the recorded Version 1.1 activation time and the order stores desktap_eula_v1_1_acceptance = true, Polar’s stored record of the required Version 1.1 Checkout assent, regardless of when the Checkout Session was created. Missing or ambiguous stored assent is routed to Version 1.0 or the term more favorable to the customer. Purchases completed before activation retain Version 1.0 and all applicable mandatory rights. A later term may be applied to an earlier purchase only when it is more favorable to the customer or required by law.

Try DeskTap before purchase

DeskTap 1.0.0 provides a three-day evaluation before purchase. It begins after you confirm Start trial & Power on and DeskTap completes its first successful Power On. All nine built-in packs are available, with up to 100 actually audible outputs per pack. Custom sample loading requires activation. Use the evaluation to check sensor access, detection and playback on your exact Mac.

The evaluation does not load or play your own custom samples. Review the published custom-pack formats and limits before purchase. A failure of an advertised paid custom-sample function is assessed under the product-issue process below; it is not treated as something the evaluation already proved.

No voluntary change-of-mind refund

GridWave DSP does not offer a voluntary refund when the request is based only on change of mind after purchase. This is not an unconditional no refunds rule. Qualifying product defects, mandatory consumer rights, remedies available under Polar’s Buyer Terms and card-network rights are handled separately below.

Qualifying product issues and voluntary remedies

Contact GridWave DSP if an advertised function of the purchased DeskTap product is materially unavailable on the official DeskTap 1.0.0 build and on a configuration represented as supported for your purchase. We will investigate using troubleshooting that is reasonable and proportionate to the reported problem.

A problem is reasonably reproducible when your steps or evidence, or our own testing, can reasonably confirm it. An intermittent problem is not excluded only because it does not occur on demand or does not reproduce on our different Mac. Inability to provide a video is not an automatic denial; we will consider proportionate alternative evidence.

If, after applying the eligibility and voluntary-exclusion rules below, the issue qualifies, no applicable voluntary exclusion is established, and the advertised function cannot be restored within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience, GridWave DSP will arrange a refund through Polar to the original payment method. We do not pay refunds directly. This product-issue process is not a time-limited change-of-mind guarantee.

Cause and voluntary exclusions

A voluntary exclusion is applied only after reviewing the reported cause and the available evidence. Where an exclusion depends on cause, the evidence must reasonably establish that the excluded condition is the sole material cause of the reported failure. The presence of an unsupported setting, third-party software or hardware condition is not enough by itself.

Subject to applicable law, the voluntary policy may exclude:

  • a request based only on change of mind;
  • a configuration disclosed as unsupported, or a beta or pre-release operating system;
  • a problem caused solely by permissions, audio routing or calibration;
  • another application or DeskTap instance occupying the motion sensor;
  • third-party software outside a configuration still represented as supported;
  • a hardware or motion-sensor fault established by evidence independent of DeskTap, where that fault is the sole material cause;
  • physical damage, excessive-force use, misuse or tampering;
  • a limitation clearly disclosed before purchase;
  • fraud, materially false information or duplicate recovery; or
  • refusal, without a reasonable explanation, to cooperate with reasonable and proportionate troubleshooting.

A DeskTap Sensor failed, not found, stalled or similar message does not by itself establish a hardware or motion-sensor fault.

DeskTap is currently represented as supporting an M1 Pro or newer MacBook with macOS 14.6 or later, subject to the published audio and configuration limits. A stable macOS update is not an automatic exclusion while its resulting configuration remains inside that represented range.

Authenticate and report the request

Use an authenticated Polar customer route, or email us and complete verification through the purchase email account. We may send a confirmation to the purchase email address recorded by Polar. A Polar order reference helps us locate the transaction but does not by itself authenticate the requester.

Include the DeskTap version and About build, Mac model, macOS version, audio settings, calibration state and concise reproduction steps. We may request a short recording, screenshot, video or log only when reasonably needed. Never send the complete licence key through ordinary email. See the Privacy Notice Version 1.1 for support-case data handling.

Refund and licence access

For a full refund intended to end access, GridWave DSP selects benefit revocation in Polar and separately checks that both the refund and licence status completed. A full refund, partial refund and device deactivation are not the same operation. A partial refund or legally required remedy follows its specific access terms.

Paid and custom-pack access ends when DeskTap receives a revoked or disabled status, or when its cached offline lease is no longer valid. The offline period is measured from the last successful validation and is not restarted by the refund. When DeskTap receives a revoked or disabled status, it blocks remaining trial access in that session and attempts to persist a local Keychain marker on that Mac. If only the offline lease expires before DeskTap receives that Polar status, an otherwise unexpired trial may temporarily be available. Keychain write failures, removal or resetting can affect persistent local trial and licence state.

Mandatory rights and Polar terms

These voluntary eligibility rules and exclusions do not restrict any non-waivable cancellation, withdrawal, conformity, repair, replacement, refund, chargeback, burden-of-proof or other right under applicable law. Polar’s Buyer Terms and card-network rules also apply. A voluntary exclusion is not a finding that a statutory remedy is unavailable.
